Waiting For The Wedding Announcement

So I hear that Robert Redford and his longtime girlfriend are officially engaged. They've been dating for 12 years. I'd say that's a good long engagement.

This past week we had four rooms in our house painted and as we got ready for the painters to come, we had to do some cleaning and sorting of our junk. In the bookselves of my husband's office I found many old photo albums and scrapbooks. There, amongst them, were 3 scrapbooks I made when I was in high school, packed full of Robert Redford memorabilia. What do I do with those books? Perhaps I'll send them to him as a weddding gift!

Seriously, the best thing I've ever read about Robert Redford, came from fellow blogger Charlotte. This is what she wrote after seeing him at the Sundance Film Festival. "I think what stood out so clearly to me was the wrinkles in his face. They proved he is a happy man. Also very genuine. He isn't hiding anything. He is just himself. He has a beautiful smile. And he is short!"

Side note: when I am old and wrinkled, will people say this proves I am a happy woman too? I sure hope so!

I'm very happy for Mr. Redford and since I am his Number #1 Fan, I'll be anxiously awaitng a wedding announcement!

Here's the Holiday Chorus quilt I mentioned in my last post. I added a little extra batting and did some faux-trapunto. Isn't this beautiful fabric?
I even did a little faux-McTavishing. I really don't do it like Karen McTavish does. I'm just wingin' it!
In fact, I don't follow all the rules when it comes to quilting....

One friend calls me a "Rebel Quilter."

Call me whatever you want...but I do love what I do!

Now, don't forget Mr. Redford! I'll be checking my mailbox every day, waiting for the wedding announcement!
If you're a Robert Redford fan, leave me a comment and tell me what your favorite Robert Redford movie is. I'd love to know! Have a great weekend!

Hi I am from india and Robert Redford makes movies special for me. Each time the Tv announces aRedford film I get ready to watch it with great anticipation.I've seen most of his films several times but I could continue watching his expressions without ever wearying. For me he is a divine actor even more divine looking and there's something about him one wants to emulate. I had loved the way he had propsed to his first wife Lola, so was a bit taken aback when they parted. It saddened me taht there can be inconstancy of this kind. But it doesnt touch my admiration and awe of him Lata

Man Vivian, are you ever a beautiful quilter! What a great job. I love what you said about RR's wrinkles -- reminds me of one of my favorite sayings "Success isn't measured by money or power -- but by laughlines." My very favorite is The Sting. I love his others too, so it's hard to choose!
