I Wish Every Day Was Thursday!

These days Thursdays are my favorite days! Why? Because of the television show, Project Runway. I love it! I started watching it a few seasons ago and got hooked. This year's another great season. Why do I love that show? Many reasons. I love Tim Gunn and Heidi Klum. Heidi Klum is by far, one of the most beautiful women in the world. And I love the show because it's so inspiring. Every time I finish an episode I feel like I need to go sew a dress or something. Now of course I don't really have much time for anything other than machine quilting. Certainly I could never make dresses like those designers, but it's fun to dream!
Do you watch Project Runway? If so, tell me why...I'd love to know.

Speaking of dresses...Check out this cute little quilt I did the machine quilting on. The pattern is called "All Dressed Up."
I love the detail this quilter put on each and every dress! Isn't it cute?
Each dress was beautifully hand-appliqued with fabrics that belonged to the quilter's late mother.
Now, get back to work, Vivian! Is it Thursday yet?

I too love Project Runway!
It amazes me how they come up with an idea for an outfit, using no pattern. I can make a dress but I need a pattern. The draping method they use is so cool. Design school I guess is where one learns that.
My favorite theme each show is when they have to use odd items to make a dress from. Like the newspaper, goodness I just loved it.

I watch Project Runway too! I sewed clothing for years before I started quilting and this just appeals to me. Plus this year there are two contestants from Minnesota who are doing well. My daughter lives in SC and there are two from there also, so we have long discussions after every show.

LOVE the show. Those paper garments they did this week were just wonderful. How'd they do that LOL?

I think I've finally caught up by watching episodes online. I love the show and was really missing it! The replacement show on Bravo (?)was awful....

I've agreed with all the cast-offs and I've already picked those that I think will make it through to the last episodes.

I have to agree, Vivian, I find Project Runway so inspiring! It's so nice to see a reality TV show celebrating people's creativity, not just their marketability. I love getting to see all of the amazing garments come to life in such a short period of time. It makes me want to become a better sewist every time!

I have to admit, I've never seen Project Runway. But I love my quilt. You did a beautiful work on it. The quilt is hanging up right now and evertime I walk by it it makes me smile. Sorry about the buttons.

Interesting... I feel the same way regarding Project Runway. I only started watching the previous series. Now I am hooked. I also feel like sewing some of the beautiful garments. But I know I would use (I am very casual). So, I started sewing for dolls :-), and getting books about art dolls. Thanks for sharing

I LOVE Tim and Heidi too. Do you feel like this season's designers have been a little boring? Usually they have a distinct style, but this season seems to be so hit or miss. Nicholas, though entertaining, has GOT to go! He's so self-absorbed! :)
