"Give us a break and take one" is what my friends and I would yell out to rock bands at concerts if we didn't like them. Well, it's time for me to give you all a break and take one.
If you have followed my blog for the last few years, you have noticed that I haven't been keeping up with it for quite a while. I was diagnosed with Lyme disease in July 2007. I now have it under control, but it triggered Fibromyalgia. I am currently part of a chronic pain program through a hospital near my home. It's a wonderful program, however I'm learning to make some temporary life changes. I'm learning to pace myself better and slow down as I get my pain under control. Once I have it under control, I will slowly add more activities to my life. Blogging is an activity that I need to slow down on for now. I am still quilting, however just not as much right now.
Soon I'll be back to the 'ol Vivian and do more blogging and quilting, but for now I'm taking a break. Take care and I'll be back before you know it!

Vivan, I miss reading your posts, but definitely taking care of yourself is a must. Take it easy, get better and we'll all still be here when you get back! My thoughts and prayers are with you! Hugs!
I know exactly what you're going through, I found a site which I posted here http://quiltfeather.blogspot.com/2010/04/why-ive-not-been-blogging-and-quilting.html .
I would love to hear how the pain clinic works out, there's a huge long waiting list over here to get into one.
We WILL get our lives back!
I hope you get the rest and pain relief you need. Many years ago I had Lyme. I was lucky to have caught it early and have it cured by mega doses of antibiotic.
I have missed seeing what you're up to but I completely get why you need to take a break.
Be well Vivian.
hugs to you, pain is no fun, I have had to really pace myself this past year-I overdid yesterday and am still in pain, so I understand what you are going thru-good luck to you Kathy
Get well and take care of yourself first.
Hugs to you and do what you need to do to get as healthy as possible! I love seeing your quilts, but you need to be healthy!
I will certainly miss you in your absence. Here's to a great recovery and learning to deal with your health issues.
Mary
I suppose that A popular alternative definition of chronic pain, involving no arbitrarily fixed durations is pain that extends beyond the expected period of healing
