"...God wishes to see people happy."

"The best remedy for those who are afraid, lonely or unhappy is to go outside, somewhere where they can be quiet, alone with the heavens, nature and God. Because only then does one feel that all is as it should be and that God wishes to see people happy, amidst the simple beauty of nature." --Anne Frank

This week has not started out well. I went Mon. for my mammogram. I thought I had detected a lump. So the mammogram was unpleasant and quite painful. I guess they were trying to get a good picture, but I was so sore the next day and even saw some bruises. What an ordeal! After the mammo they sent me immediately to ultrasound to look more closely. I said to the girl, "Well I weigh more now, so it's probably just fat tissue, right?" She didn't even look at me. No answer. Not a grunt, a flinch, or even a burp, or anything. I know they're not permitted to give even the slightest hint. Perhaps I should have bribed her some chocolate!

So I have to wait now and see what doc wants to do. A biopsy, more pictures of my sore breast? Who knows. So I have been really down and even though I have tons of quilts to get done, I couldn't get up and get them done. Finally I looked in the closet and picked the next one up.

It was a lovely sampler with a gorgeous applique border, meticulously hand done. "Do whatever you want", it said on a note attached. So this is what I did. I just quilted away...all day long. Have you ever just followed a road, not knowing where it leads? You just want to follow it and see where it goes? Well that's kinda what it was like for me. It made me very happy.

Also, my son took a picture of this nest near our front entry way. It's springtime here in southern California, for sure. What a lovely surprise he found when he reached up with the camera and shot this! This made me happy too!

Me encanta la actitud que tienes. Verás que todo irá bien.

Best wishes on your lump, I hope it turns out as well for you as it did for me, mine turned out to be a lipoma(sp?)which is a fatty tumor. Having it removed was not that bad, uncomfortable but not very painful. Gorgeous quilting. Thank goodness for the ability to do something like this to cheer us up.

It is very scary when they find something, and awful to have to wait for the results. Vibes for a harmless result are on their way to you!

Meant to tell you in my other comment that I hope everything is fine with your mammogram. I had one recently (my first at age 44--I had put them off) and haven't heard anything so no news is good news I guess. Prayers for you.

My best thoughts and wishes are going your way Vivian. Your quilting on that gorgeous quilt was absolutely exquisite. How smart of you to involve yourself so deeply in your work as a distraction.
