Wanted: Miracle Workers

It was Monday night, just 5 days before Daughter #2's wedding. Because of differences in taste, opinion, colors, lighting, etc. etc., the woman who was helping us on decorating for the reception has resigned! No kidding. She and my daughter could never agree on anything. So the woman felt the best thing to do would be to resign. Being the screenwriter that she is, Daughter #2 says that when you diagram a screenplay this would be the 9th step of 11 steps in the story. It's when everything is going wrong!

Now, lets pull ourselves together and brainstorm!

Last night Daughter #2 and my DH and I searched the internet for quick, simple ideas to pull this off. We came up with a plan and I think we can do it. We will be Miracle Workers! We will also be enlisting the help of Daughter #2's Sweetheart and his family too. We can do this!

Everything will be ok. I told my daugther, "This will be one of those things you'll look back on in years to come and laugh about it." She said, with a faint smile on her face, "I sure hope so."

This is the place Daughter #2 and her Sweetheart will be married. I'm so proud of them. I know it's the most important part of the whole weekend to come. In a screenplay, the 10th of the 11 steps would be the climax. In this case, that will be the actual wedding ceremony on Sat. morning in Newport Beach in the LDS Temple. The reception on Sat. night will be the 11th step: the end resolution and conclusion.
I know it will!

Oh, yes, and I'm still trying to quilt....

The Purse Dog is our biggest cheerleader in all this.
"You can do it!" she says.

Oh Vivian, I'm crossing my fingers and toes. What a thing to have to tackle so close to the day. To try and be positive-I guess that's a realtively small issue (gulp) in the scope of things. I have to stop at church to pick up my mailat the Pantry-I'll light some candles.....it couldn't hurt!

I always say to people when they're getting strung out over 'the wedding' things like this at the end of the day are not important.
At least one thing goes wrong with absolutely every wedding there ever was.
As long as there are tablecloths and cutlery, it really won't matter too much.
Spend the money on extra wine and no one will even notice (grin).
For my first wedding the Rolls Royce booked to take me away from the church to the reception broke down and all the men had to push start the car.
On my next and final wedding, the flowers arrived on the morning, totally the wrong colour. I had no flowers. Did anyone notice? Of course not.
What matters is that they love each other and are commiting for life in front of their families and friends.
Have a wonderful day.
Sally

Well, good luck and push onward. Your daughter won't be happy unless she gets what she really wants.

Oh my! I sure wish I lived in the area -- I'd love to come and help out. Many hands make light work as they say! You're right and I'm sure it will all work out and be a great memory for your family! A co-workers daughter just got married last weekend. 17 hours before the wedding, the bridesmaid-dress-maker delivered 1 too large dress, 3 way too small dresses, and 1 dress completely still in pieces. The poor bride and bridesmaids stayed up all night working on 3 dresses. On the morning of the wedding, they went shopping and bought 2 close-enough dresses. No one would have ever known if they didn't tell!

Alright... time to call in the visiting teachers, and your close friends in the Relief Society. Want to see a miracle? You'll see it! Best wishes!

Oh my gosh...I wish I was there to help you!!! We'll all be sitting on the edge of our seats hoping to hear the conclusion to this saga. The beauty of this whole thing is that the most important part will be absolutely perfect...there is no doubt and no stress when the Temple is involved. I'll join your friend Dee who will be lighting candles and praying for you. What are friends for?! We're all there with you in spirit! Good luck! This will make for a great blog and journal entry!
