A Rose By Any Other Name...

"What's in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet."--Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, 1594.

I swear this story is true. My children were raised hearing about this. Every Mormon missionary who ever came over for dinner in our home heard this story too.

When my husband served a mission in Arequipa Peru in the early 80's, he worked in the mission office. There were 3 elders who served together in that office. They were "Elder Fagg, Elder Hooker, and Elder Love." Seriously...it's the truth! Here they are pictured below:

They got together at BYU last week, along with about 120 other elders and sisters from their mission. Many of these missionaries had not seen each other in 27 years! It was a great reunion. Here are some of them, pictured below, as they looked while serving in Peru. The one in the middle, back row is my DH, "Elder Love." I know they don't look like typical Mormon missionaries in this picture, but they got together on this day to play soccer. "Los Cheveres!"

Pictured below are some of these young men 27 years older. Haven't changed a bit, have they?

Here's my DH with his first companion, Henson. Growing up my children never knew this guy had a first name. Henson is his last name and my husband always called him "Henson." They are still really good friends and talk at least once a week.My DH worked hard on planning and organizing this reunion. He searched and searched for these ex-missionaries to let them know about the reunion. I know this picture is just the back of people's heads, sorry. There were many people there at the Garden Room of the Wilkinson Center at BYU. I only personally knew a few, but I had a good time too.

Speaking of before and after...
Check out what I did yesterday. Below is how this quilt came to me from the customer. Pretty fabrics, don't you think? Upon first seeing this quilt I thought I would do just a simple all-over design. But as usual, I get quilting and change my mind!

This is what I ended up doing. This is what freemotion quilting is all about. I just "let my mind go and let my longarm follow!" Here's a closer shot of the quilting I did.

My kids say I graffitti on the quilt!

I love your quilting...you are very talented!

Bishop Hooker was Head of emergency service at Utah Valley Hospital when we were at BYU.

Bishop Fagg was the Bishop of the Fruit Heights (Utah) ward...I'm not kidding!

A local friend here married a boy with the last name "Love"....she is now Treasure Love!
