Isn't this one of the cutest quilts? My friend Lisa, mother of 6, has made, through the years, quilts for some of her kids' teachers. This is only one of them that I have done. Two lucky teachers will be receiving these as end-of-the-school-year gifts. Lucky ladies!
Made with the darling Andover Fabric, The Very Hungry Caterpillar collection and based on the popular Eric Carle book, The Very Hungry Caterpillar. The class read the book together this past year. Lisa made one for the teacher and one for her aide. As you can see the teacher's block is the butterfly, made with the teacher's handprints. The caterpillars are made with the children's fingerprints. Don't you love it? It sure made me hungry as I quilted it! Lots of yummy foods throughout. The Purse Dog got hungry too! I told her it was "The Very Hungry Caterpillar", NOT "The Very Hungry Purse Dog!"

That is a very cute quilt. I remember that book from my kids elementary days. My kids also loved the book "Good Night Moon"
Vivian-look at www.utahshophop.com for some good shops to visit when you come this summer. I especially like Quilt, Quilt, Quilt, Etc in Sandy and Threads of Time in Centerville...Threads is on your way to see your daughter

I love that quilt. You did an incredible job on!!! The very hungry caterpillar is a FAVORITE in our house.
What a great quilt! Those vibrant colors are very eye-catching and theme is perfect. As always, that quilting really makes the quilt.
I'm not that interesting in quilts but the caterpillar one is adorable. I really like it!
ps. I finished the Kite Runner several months ago...very good book.
Tres cute! Little purse dog is super cute too! That's a great idea for a teacher quilt. I think Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See would be cute too.
Thank you for sharing this with me! I am dying over this quilt. What kind of paint was used that will wash? I think I will be attempting this for my son's teacher next year!
Too bad I don't live closer, I have been wanting to learn free motion quilting! Great blog, I love quilting blogs!
That is absolutely gorgeous! The teacher is sure to be ecstatic to receive such a beautiful gift!
