The Purse Dog is here to announce the "Quilts With Love" 200th post celebration! Read this entire post to find out all about it!While I was in Utah visiting Daughter #1, I had lots of adventures. I'll be sharing some with you soon. I made Daughter #1 and her Sweetheart stop in Brigham City at Village Dry Goods, a lovely little quilt shop right on Main St. Below is a view of Main Street as you head north through the cute town of Brigham City. Oh, and by the way, most locals just call it "Brigham." I learned that you don't always have to say "City!" It is a darling shop. I'm so glad it was open. During past trips to Brigham City, I never timed it right and they were always closed when we went by. This time we arranged our schedule to make sure we got in their before they closed. We spent the day in Logan and on our way back to Tremonton (where Daughter #1 lives) we came right through Brigham City...just to stop at Village Dry Goods.
Check out all these lovely quilts and fabrics below.
They have a great selection of notions and books, too!
I thought this display below was darling...an antique bed they change throughout the seasons! Right now they are displaying lovely Christmas quilts, kits, and fabrics!
Here is a clever idea below! This is a magnetized wall that works as a great design wall! How come I never thought of that?
I was happy to see a good selection of Moda's Prairie Paisley. I bought 6 yards. This fabric line is not easy to find where I live!
And look at what I found! It's a Threaded Pear quilt! I recognize those scallops! That would be Gina and Stephanie's Charming Log Cabin!
And look who's being a good sport. Here is Daughter #1's Sweetheart...a local who grew up near Brigham City...in Bear River City. He's keeping busy in the back text messaging! He was being so patient with us shoppers!
And here's Daughter #1 checking out the patterns for pin cushions. She wants to make some for Christmas gifts.
And speaking of pin cushions! Check out the darling pin cushion I picked up at Village Dry Goods! Well, this can be yours! It's a pin cushion on an antique-type "c-clamp". I clamped it to my antique sewing table. And I want this to be yours! Just leave a comment on this post before Sun. Aug. 17th midnight PDT. Just tell me what is your favorite quilt shop. The Purse Dog and I would like to know! (one entry per person...and to keep shipping costs down, it's open to US residents only.)
Leave me a post today! Tell me and The Purse Dog what is your favoirte quilt shop!

Congratulations on 200 posts...I love your blog, and your quilting is amazing! I live in a small town an hour away from the closest quilt shops...my favorite Las Vegas quilt shop (1 hour south) is called "The Christmas Goose." I also love "The Lazy Daisy" in St. George, Utah (1 hour north).
Love reading your blog. My favorite shop is called A Scarlet Thread in McDonough, Georgia. I have others that are close to me but I drive a good 30 minutes to get to this one.
Do I have to have just one? My favorites here in Kansas City are Harpers (Overland Park, KS) and Quilter's Haven (Olathe, KS). If I ever stop working I think both stores will really suffer. :-) Love the blog and all the beatuiful pictures.
I love Brigham! My grandparents grew up there, my great-grandfather owned a shop on the main street there. We used to visit and eat at Peach City (I think that's what it's called -- I always want to call it the Peach Pit). Anyway, my favorite quilt shop is the one where I am allowed to buy lots of stuff!
Congrats on your 2ooth post! I always enjoy reading what you have to share. My favorite quilt shop is Rosie's Calico Cupboard in San Diego. http://rosiescalicocupboard.com/
I've heard that people come from all over to go to Rosie's, so I guess I'm pretty lucky that I don't live too far away! Thanks for the opportunity to win the pincushion! I love antiques.
Wow! LOve that shop! ANd that Charming Log Cabin. Thanks for the write up.
I love your blog and your quilting is beyond beautiful. Also, I enjoy reading about your trips to Utah. I write down places to visit the next time I am up there. My favorite quilt shop is The Quilt Corner in Baton Rouge, LA. The owners have gone through so much adversity (the lose of a husband and parent, heart problems, and breast cancer)but continue to give back to the community. They distributed hundreds of quilts to Hurricane Katrina victims and still continue to make quilts for charity.
I envy you all the wonderful shops I read about in California blogs. Here in NY there aren't many near me. The two times we have been to North Carolina for recent family get-togethers, I was lucky enough to go to a small town called Mooresville not far from Charlotte It's a charming little southern town with typical old red brick buildings and a nice Main St.
The quilt shop there is called "Quilters Loft" on the top of an old landmark building right in town. You really have to look for it a bit since there are no real signs and parking is in the back along the railroad tracks. It's worth the trip. Room after room of lovely quilting material and a nice back room used for teaching. I got a ton of stuff last time I was there and the help are very sweet. The address is 188 N Main St. Suite B. Mooresville, North Carolina
Thanks for the chance to win the lovely pin cushion.
Congratulations!
I, too, love your blog. I especially love hearing about your travels.
My favorite local quilt shop is the Great American Quilt Factory. I've shopped there forever. I love it when they greet me by name when I walk in. My favorite online shop is Bighorn Quilts.
Congratulations on 200 posts! Your quilting is stunning! My favorite quilt shop is "Pine Needles" in Gardner Village,Utah, but I only get there once a year. My favorite quilt shop closest to me is "Christmas Goose" in Las Vegas, NV.
I don't have a favorite bricks & mortar quilt shop , my favorite online is on ebay: quilttaffy.
never been to a quilt shop! we just have any for miles and miles around! regular fabric stores carry quilting supplies down here. you should stop in on my current giveaway when you get the time! http://nowenteringmomville.blogspot.com/2008/08/mountains-of-moon-giveaway.html
Congrats on your 200th post! That is a great accomplishment! You have probably posted over 200 quilts as well since lots of your posts feature multiple quilts.
About 3 years ago this new building began going up just a few streets from my house. For the longest time no one knew what was going to go in there. Finally one day, much to my delight, they hung the sign for "Elaine's Quilt Block"! I couldn't believe it... a quilt shop honestly not more than 60 seconds from my driveway (unless I have to wait for some traffic and then it could take an extra minute). Elaine's is a wonderful shop with great variety of fabrics, notions, books, patterns, kits and the nicest staff of any quilt shop around!
Happy 200th post and I'm glad you want that pincushion to be mine 'cause I want it to be mine too LOL! Hmmm, favorite quilt shop -- that's a tough one -- I love so many. I'll give you two -- Clementine's in Franklin IN and Whimsy in SLC UT!
Congrarulations!!!!
My favorite shop is 'The Quilted Pearl' in Columbia, SC. The owner is THE BEST and the staff is THE BETTER!!!! you could only find a better selection of Batiks at Batiks etc. Fantastic selection of orientals and the whole shop is awesome!!
Vivian, congratulations on 200 posts. I always seem to let milestones like that slip by me from inattentiveness. Hmm. Favorite quilt store. Funny thing is I can't name just one. Sweetheart Quilt Shoppe is very local and I can just run it. The Fig Leaf is close and carries a classier more designer look of fabrics. Inspirations Quilt Shop is very far away but is a very nice country-style. Quilting Hands is a little mountain town shop that fills in the edges.
Love your blog & your dog!
My favorite local quilt shop is Zoe's Trunk in Chandler, AZ
love the pincushion....love the store Material Girls in Salt Lake. if you have a chance pop into that fun one.
Love My favorite of all time is (luckily) right down the street from me...Quiltology in Chicago. It's been in business for about 2 years and I am SO glad that they came to town!
I was so in for this until I discovered I couldn't becuase I live in CANADA.
Boo Hoo!!!
I love reading your blog! The pictures are fantastic! My favorite local quilt shop is Oklahoma Quiltworks in OKC!
Love reading your blog. The pincushion is to die for - sooo cuute. Don't have a favorite quilt shoppe. I love them all in southeastern Michigan where I live.

Congratulations on 200 posts!
Your quilting is very lovely...I would love to take one of your classes, if only I had a long arm..(Someday!)
I have a few favorites - Bear's in Costa Mesa (they have great prices!) and Cozy Cottage in Brea(it's on the way home from work)..and for a treat, we head to Rosie's in San Diego...
Congrats on the 200th post! My favs (when I'm looking for quilting stuff) are my local shop - The Quilting Corner - she quit her bank job to follow her dream of having a quilt shop, and the other is Peggy Anne's in Concord where I can buy Fassett and other imports including Liberty Tana lawns.
This may be cheating but my favorite quilt shop is the one I work and teach at - http://tinystitches.com/. It is here in Marietta, GA and has a wonderful staff and lots of bolts of fabric to drool over.
Congratulations on your first 200 posts!
Well Vivian and Purse Dog, my favorite Quilt Shop is my Mom's, "Jane's Fabric Patch" (www.janesfabricpatch.com)in Tillamook, Oregon, she will be celebrating 27 years in October, my how time flies... Congrats on your 200 posts of great artistry and beautiful family, my new not so much purse dog Sophie and I are grateful for your sharing and creative spirit... Hugs, Ronda Beyer
OOOh! It's wonderful!
I'm new to your blog, but I will faithfully be reading on with you in the future.
My favorite quilt shops here in NW Montana are "Backdoor General Store" in Whitefish and "Glacier Quilts" in Kalispell. Please count me in!!!
Congratulations on your 200th post. I live about 45 miles from my favorite quilt shop. The name is Overall Quilter in Indian Trail, NC. There is another even further from me but.....The Quilters Loft in Moorseville, NC .
I don't think I've ever been to a quilt shop that I didn't love (and find something to buy)! I literally have favorites all over the country, but really, really love the Woolen Willow because they send me lovely packages when I can't go there to shop in person.
Hi Vivian,
My favorite local shops are Cozy Cottage in Brea, and Quilter's Coop in Old Town Temecula. Congrats on your 200th post and thanks for all you do.
Lisa
Even though I love my local lqs, I have a very special place in my heart for a shop about an hour & half south from me - they carry reproductions and civil wars, wonderful samples displayed in an older small home and and owner that loves to take the time to show you a new technique. When I go to Homespun Quilt shop in Estherville, IA, I walk in the door and say. "Honey, I'm home". Thank you for your blogs. Dee
I love your little pin cushion. My favorite LQS is Quilting Among Friends in Arlington, TX They are celebrating their 1st anniversary.
Yay! 200 posts! I like the purse dog. She's a cutie. Hope you had fun in Utah :)
Yay! Happy 200th post! I love your blog. My great grandma is 95 and still hand quilts (WOW!) and both of my other grandmothers are quilters:) Our favorite shop is the Icehouse in Grayling, MI.
Congratulations on your 200th post and your amazing quilting -- lovely work!
Like several others here, it's difficult for me to choose... we have a lot of great quilt shops in the SF Bay Area. New Pieces in Berkeley and Black Cat Quilts in SF are my favorites, but Quilt Fans in Alameda and Thimble Creek in Concord are great.
When traveling, there are a couple shops outside of Cleveland Ohio that are quite nice: Abigayle's Quiltery in Olmsted Falls and Birds of a Feather in Avon (they also sell yarn, so it's double fun for me).
Meanwhile... I'm drooling over the prize. I collect tomato-themed items, so this is especially drool-worthy for me. :)
How fun that you got to visit Village Dry Goods! I meet there once a month with a group of rug hookers. The staff is always so friendly and helpful - glad to know that you like it there too!
